We just finished up an unbelievably fun (and busy) weekend. We watched the Blue Angels, hung out with family and went to the fireworks. The Plum compound was busy with everyone home for the holiday.
We kicked off the weekend with a family bike ride downtown to watch the Blue Angels practice session. We started at 3 mile and Parson's and rode the Tart Trail into town. We ended up at Train Depot for lunch because I forgot the lunch we had packed- oh well. Everyone enjoyed their lunch at the Eurostop Cafe. It was quite entertaining watching this gang of bikes come down the trail- four bikes pulling double trailers and 5 other bikes riding along. It was killing me not to get a video of this group coming down the road- but that wouldn't have been safe... I was pulling one of those trailers. Thank goodness we had Uncle Jason along with us. One of the Burley's blew a tire and he just happened to have a spare tube with him. We had a great time, but missed the GR Plums who came up Friday night.
Just like old times when the Plum Kids were all growing up, we went to Senior Citizens beach to play and watch the air show. The kids had a great time playing in the bay, but there weren't too many fans of the air show, except for Sophie- who pointed and clapped throughout.
Cousin Bea
Cousing Ally
Cousin Emily
Cousin Drew
Cousin Charlie and Uncle Jason
Cousin Jenson
Owen
After the bike ride we came home and cooled off in the lake and played all afternoon. After dinner we all hopped in the boat for some tubing time- what fun! I didn't get pictures of cousin Emmy tubing with Aunt Sarah- but she was brave and did a great job. Bea and Aunt Rachel went tubing and really enjoyed it... but both girls got to experience falling off for the first time and this was a little more scary for them.
This was a big night for the Adams Family- we went for our First Family Tubing Ride- all four of us!
This also marked Sophie's first ever tube ride and she loved it- laughing and waving the whole time.
On Saturday we enjoyed the Blue Angels Show from West Bay aboard Ma Mai and Ta Tai's boat. It was very windy and choppy, but we still had a great time. We watched the show from on top of the bow.
Owen still thought the planes were loud, but couldn't keep his eyes off of them...
The noise didn't phase Sophie, she ate lunch and smiled while they flew overheard...
After the show Sophie helped Ta Tai drive us home
Ma Mai and Owen relaxed with a drink on the way home...
Aunt Kathryn was with us too
We welcomed the 11th Plum cousin to the compound this weekend- Isaac Alan is doing amazingly well living amongst all the other cousins this week. Its been really fun to watch Owen around him. He really is interested in the baby and asks "Where's Isaac?" all the time. Here is the first time Owen got to hold him:
Sunday was a good day on the beach. The day started off with a morning Pontoon Ride
There was also a lot of fishing going on, catching fish is definitely not a problem off of our dock, but keeping your worm definitely is!
There are too many pictures of the kids playing on the beach to post, but I especially like this one of Sophie and Ally in their matching swimsuits!
These two pictures sum up the day very well- All of the aunts and uncles/ moms and dads/ grandmas and grandpas enjoying themselves amongst all of our special kids. (luckily the photos aren't reminding me of all the whining, fighting and yelling that occurs when you have that many kids together)
