On May 1st we attended my cousin Andrew's wedding in Grand Rapids. As we had anticipated, we had a great time. Hanging out with our large, yet very close, extended family is always a blast.
Drew's Parents, my Aunt Dar and Uncle Craig hold a special place in our hearts because they were the Master and Mistress of Ceremonies at our wedding. Dean even lived with the Nollar family while going to school at GVSU, so he feels like a brother to Drew.
Here's Aunt Dar hugging Drew after the wedding
And Uncle Craig hugging Drew's new Mother-in-law
It was also a special weekend because we got to spend some adult time with my brothers and sisters- something that doesn't happen very often anymore. Here is the "Plum Family Aisle" at the wedding.
We were very thankful that my Grandma Beth and Grandpa Jack were feeling better and were able to come to the wedding (they had been fighting colds for the last couple of weeks)
I love this picture of my cousins Tommy and Tony, enjoying some break time from their duties as ushers...
After the ceremony we rounded up the Plum Family Adults and got a rare photo of all of us without the 10 kids. There is one exception- baby #3 for Al and Kim who is due the beginning of June. Kim looks so good, you probably can't even tell she's pregnant in this picture!
After checking in at the hotel to make sure all of the kids were doing OK, we grabbed a cocktail before going to the wedding. My cousin Kurt and his wife Katherine joined us.
We had a great time, but that was only the beginning.....then we headed off to the reception.
We hit the dance floor hard, from about 7 pm until midnight...
Unfortunately for Deano, this was his last night of dancing for a while. This weekend he had an unfortunate accident while on a boat and has broken his Patella (Knee Cap). We are still unsure of how long he will be out of commission or whether he will need surgery, but we are certain that we have a long spring and beginning of summer ahead.
Stay tuned for a post chronicling the Big O's 3rd Birthday.
