On Saturday we went to the National Zoo. Nap time impeded a bit on our visit, but we still had a great time. Here we are checking out the Elephants!
I'm not sure which animal we were looking at, but Owen was amazed!
Meals... Owen is a great eater. He pretty much eats what we eat. Here we are eating Tex Mex. Quacamole, sour cream, black beans, chicken and rice from our burrito all clumped together easy for eating with your hands. Doesn't it look good!?
I know where Owen gets his adorable looks- aren't my boys the cutest?
It was fun to see Andy hang out with Owen. He is going to be a great daddy someday. I just hope his kid is a little taller...
After going to visit the Muppets at the Smithsonian, we hopped on the Carousel on the National Mall. Owen and Daddy went first...
One ride is never enough... here is round 2!
As I mentioned before Andy and Katie live in an awesome neighborhood. They are just a couple blocks from this wonderful park that overlooks the Potomac River. We had a picnic lunch there on Sunday, then Owen got to chase Daddy around in the wide open field, something he didn't get to do much going from hotel room to metro car to dinner. He had a blast!
Andy and Katie adopted a Greyhound named Harry last spring. Owen was his first real experience with kids. He did a great job letting Owen play on his doggie bed!
We stayed at a wonderful new Westin Hotel. Owen especially liked the fluffy King Sized bed to play on.
For those of you who haven't seen Owen for awhile, he has learned how to hug and kiss. There are few feelings in the world that are better than when your little 1.5 year old hugs and kisses you! We thought we would demonstrate!
Owen loves anything with wheels on it... and this includes Trolley Buses. Here he is flirting with the camera while riding the King Street Trolley...
The King St trolley is a free ride down through historic Old Town Alexandria. If you are ever in DC, it is truly a great place to spend an afternoon.
The Westin had a pool and ofcourse, Owen loved it. It took him awhile to "dive in", but after he warmed up a bit it was back to his old ways. His latest trick is holding his breath. He will voluntarily put his head in the water and hold it... pretty cool! We've been practicing in the bath tub.
