On Friday night we spent the evening at Aunt Dar and Uncle Craig's condo and then watched the Fireworks from their deck. Owen didn't quite stay up for the fireworks, but he found some time to hang out with Elliot and give him some lovin.
Charlevoix has recently finished their downtown renovation. Included in that is a water fountain designed for kids to play in. We let Owen run around for a little while until a big kid knocked him down. This was a great time for him to show off his recently acquired walking skills. Oops, kind of forgot to mention that, but Owen started walking this week at 14.5 months old. The one benefit of him being a relatively late walker is that he's pretty good at it!
Saturday morning is parade time. Just like Cherry Fest, Owen loved every minute of it!
Saturday afternoon was a nice quiet time for the Adams Family. Owen took a nap on the boat while mom and dad relaxed. Afterwards, we joined the rest of the family down near East Jordan. Not long after we got there we had 5 tubes tied on the boat with 6 riders hanging on for dear life. It was the best tubing I have ever done....
Just kidding, no I didn't go tubing with my preggo belly... but I was really jealous that I couldn't go. Here are a few of the highlights...
Ok, so here's the gang before we put the hammer down.
And here is what was left of them after whipping them into some good waves.
Saturday night is my FAVORITE night of Venetian. This is when they do the boat parade and an amazing up close and personal Fireworks display. These fireworks are nothing like traditional fireworks... they are low, loud and continuous. Its like the grand finale for the whole show. Owen stayed up for this show and he absolutely loved it!
Before the boat parade starts, they do a quick little sample of what is to come. This introduced Owen to Fireworks and he immediatly started pointing to the sky. Everyone kept asking him where the fireworks will be and he'd point, like this...
Watching with Daddy...
Here he is during a really loud part of the show, as you can tell with how I'm covering his ears.
