Our good friend Mackenzie, a fellow blogger, recently did a post that recapped her entire year. I thought it was so cool, so I'm doing The Adams Family 2009- The Review.
Our year started with Owen becoming a big brother. Sophie Ann was born just before the New Year on Christmas Eve just before 10pm. Here, soon to be big brother hugs mommy before going back home. I love this picture because he knew mommy was hurting and he gave me one of the best hugs ever! Who knew that we'd have a baby only an hour and a half after this picture was taken!
Little Sophie missed out on being a Christmas baby by only a couple of hours- but mommy was thrilled!
We got home on the 26th to celebrate Christmas and open gifts. Sophie dressed up for the occasion, mommy's Christmas jammies from 1980!
The big news of the holiday season was the birth of three Plum cousins within two weeks.
Everyone thought we were crazy, but when Sophie was only 4 weeks old we headed off to Hawaii!
Sophie enjoyed the Hawaiian Shade...
While Owen got crazy underwater...
We had such a great trip...
In the spring we enjoyed Easter with Brian and Bailey. They flew home from New Orleans and surprised mom and dad- what fun!
Owen turned 2 on May 5th...
Sophie's Glamour Shot at 6 months old:
The Spring was a very exciting time for our sister Rachel who graduated from Medical School. We traveled to the UP for her ceremony up there and then a month later went to Michigan State to watch her walk. The whole family (including new cousin Jenson) all met up in East Lansing for the affair...
Life was crazy in May and June with the upcoming Parade of Homes. We had to recruit a lot of help to get done on time:
June was The Parade of Homes- Yeah, we made it!
Summer was busy trying to move in to the house and also trying to enjoy the weather (what few nice warm days we had). We came to look forward to sunsets every night, they are absolutely beautiful!
Cherry Festival was really fun this year. Just like '08, Owen loved the Junior Royale Parade. Even at 7 months old, Sophie enjoyed it too!
Owen had a big summer. He learned to jump off the dock and at the end of the summer, went tubing with mom... fast!
He also enjoyed taking outdoor showers...
The end of summer was time to say goodbye to Brian for a year. He headed off to Moldova (a country near Romania) on a Fulbright Scholarship in September...
The Fall brought a whole new adventure for Owen. He officially knows what its like to be a Michigan Fan, as he attended his first U of M football game at The Big House... Go Blue!
Our fall was fun. We visited the orchard...
carved "pumpkin chairs"...
had some family pictures taken...
and dressed up for Halloween...
In October we also took a trip to Madison Wisconsin to visit Jason, Rachel, Bea and Charlie...
We went rode the City Bus to the Homecoming Parade:
Went to the largest Farmers Market in North America at the Capitol Building:
And went swimming at the hotel's pool
The Holidays were very special for us as it was our first Thanksgiving and Christmas in our new house...
Happy Turkey Day!
Merry Christmas...
Living in our winter wonderland has been awesome as well...
2009 Treated Us Very Well and We are Excited to Share 2010 with all of you...
Special Thanks to Mackenzie for the great idea to do a Yearly Review!
