After Thanksgiving we began a rather large project, putting in an in-ground hot tub, or "hot pool" as a lot of people have been calling it lately.  It is pretty large, but we do tend to have very large groups of people over and we wanted to be able to accommodate that.  Here are some pictures taking you through the process.

After the plumping was set,  a company from downstate came up to spray in the concrete form.  Kind of like a specialized poured wall.

Spraying the concrete with great force allowed them to.....

create steps and even a lounge chair in the spa. 

Spraying is all done.  Here they are just smoothing it out. 

Backfilling the spa.  Thanks to Mitch, Jason Horton and Mike Ace for helping.  It was raining and 36 degrees. 

After having a type of exposed aggregate finish put on, some decorative tile around the water line and the finishing stones placed on top, its ready to be filled! 

We had no trouble filling that huge hot tub up.  A day after its completion we welcomed company for the Holidays.  For two weeks straight we used it almost every night.

We had about 20 people in the tub this night. 

Early in December we had the opportunity to attend a Lion's Game.  It was our First Lions Game, and super fun!

Owen and I stayed until the end to see the Lions BEAT the Vikings!
