At the end of August a summer's worth of training proved to be worth
it- I competed in my first Triathlon, which took place out in Bowers
Harbor on the Old Mission Peninsula. It was a great day for me, and
also Dean as he was able to participate in a relay. We felt especially
thankful because we had quite a fan club. My brother Al and his family
came from Grand Rapids to cheer us on and my parents brought the kids
so they could see what mommy had been training for all summer long.

Deano was all smiles- he was done for the day! |

Still have to bike and run, but feeling good! |

At the finish line with my family- what a great day! |
I ended up placing 64th out of 200 overall and 6th (out of 22) in my age group. Dean's relay finished 4th. It felt really good to compete again.
